NATURALIZATION

NATURALIZATION

If you have been a green card holder (legal permanent resident) for a certain number of years, you may be eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship through a process called “naturalization.”

As a U.S. citizen, you would be eligible to vote in U.S. elections, to serve in a jury, and to receive Social Security benefits upon retirement. Additionally, you would no longer need to worry about renewing your green card every 10 years, or to notify the USCIS about your changes of address. Last but not least, you may be able to sponsor foreign-born relatives to immigrate to the United States.

If you have a permanent resident card and have questions regarding citizenship and naturalization, do not hesitate to contact Rosi & Gardner, P.C. at (231) 941-5878.
